The Japanese don’t make things, they craft them. It’s something you immediately recognise whenever you see it – that exquisite sureness of touch that transforms the everyday into an art form. Maybe it comes from having a heritage of centuries of tradition. Beautiful ideas, elegantly designed and lovingly crafted with consummate skill. And now, we’re honored to say, made with CORDURA® fabric in new expressions of timeless and enduring values.

So, in our ‘Crafted in Japan with CORDURA® fabric’ series, we’re celebrating exciting collaborations with Japanese brands and designers. Brands that are global tastemakers on the forefront of product innovation – as well as emerging names that prove small really is beautiful. Showcasing not only their flair for exquisite design, but their expertise and specialized manufacturing techniques.

We’ve picked a ‘master-piece’ to launch the series

Master-piece provides us with a brilliant opener for the ‘CRAFTED IN JAPAN WITH CORDURA® FABRIC’ series. This Japanese brand was established in 1994, with the goal of fusing fashionable designs with functionality suited to everyday life – using uniquely original combinations of materials.

They’ve certainly achieved this in their latest stunning 2018 POTENTIAL 2WAY backpack.  Just one look tells you they mean what they say about fashionable design. And, it’s absolutely packed with features. In fact the more you use it, the more useful details you’ll find.

As for functionality, that comes from construction using CORDURA® 420D Ballistic fabric as the main material. This gives excellent durability, enhanced by waterproofing on the surface of the fabric. The bottom section of the bag, where you’ll expect the heaviest wear and tear, is protected with 1680 CORDURA® 420D Ballistic fabric, also waterproofed. These fabrics are made with high tenacity nylon 6,6 filament yarns for enhanced tear and abrasion resistance and are based on the original ballistic woven nylon developed for military body armor.
