Company Profile:
Beginning in 1940 as a research and development program to create specialty fabrics for industrial applications, Highland quickly flourished as a leader in the industrial fabric and textile market with their innovative solutions to a wide range of applications.  In 1988 the Takata Corporation purchased the business and renamed the corporation Highland Industries, Inc.

With its headquarters location in Greensboro, NC; Highland Industries, Inc. operates two manufacturing plants in Cheraw, SC and Kernersville, NC.  The Cheraw, SC plant features weaving, knitting and aqueous based finishing operations as well as a complete quality lab. The Kernersville, NC plant contains solvent based coating and laminating capabilities for a variety of knit and woven substrates.  With their state-of-the-art plant facilities, Highland Industries, Inc. continues to specialize in fabric-forming techniques and high-performance coatings as well as laminations.

Certifications:
Highland Industries, Inc. has certifications with the International Organization for Standardization  (ISO) 9001:2000, ISO 14001, and TS 1694 illustrating their commitment to quality and excellence in all areas of the business. Their Research and Development Center at Kernersville, NC is responsible for advanced product development and technical support providing most American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) and industry testing protocols while being accredited with the American Association for Laboratory Accreditation (A2LA).

Capabilities:
Highland Industries, Inc. capabilities include weaving, weft insertion, raschel knitting and circular knitting while their coatings include aqueous and solvent-based formulas specifically designed for end-use applications.  Their laminating and extruding capabilities include polyurethane, PVC and other films that are applied to base fabrics to provide individualized product solutions for their customers.
