We first worked with outdoor specialist BLACKYAK back in 2016 for the global launch of their clothing range – designed by mountaineers for mountaineers. Now we’re climbing to new heights together with the exciting new expanded collection aimed at the European market.
Inspired by the yak’s resilience, BLACKYAK clothing is crafted to withstand even the harshest alpine conditions. Prototypes are exposed to extreme situations by the BLACKYAK athletes and alpinists during training and on expeditions. And just look at what that involves. Week-long treks, waiting at base camp, the ascent of 8,000-metre-high peaks, climbing ice walls. In these life or death scenarios, people and materials have to work together optimally. This requirement is what sets the foundation for our on-going collaboration.
It’s also why the 2017 collection features insulation and mid-weight layers designed with CORDURA® fabric for enhanced durability and soft comfort. With pants, shorts, shirts and jackets, all engineered for survival on the most exposed summits. And it’s proving to be a winning formula, as explained by Max Nortz, managing director at BLACKYAK:
