Atlanco’s TRU-SPEC® Brand Expands CORDURA® Baselayer Fabric Product Line

Fabric’s Unique Properties Protect Real Superheroes

While real superheroes may not use capes, Atlanco’s TRU-SPEC® brand product line is now offering military, tactical and law enforcement personnel a full line of protective undergarments featuring CORDURA® Baselayer fabric with freshFX® fabric technology.

“We are excited to expand our relationship with Atlanco to grow the line of TRU-SPEC® apparel featuring CORDURA® Baselayer fabric,” said Cindy McNaull, global CORDURA® brand and marketing director.  “Whether they are securing our homeland or fighting enemy forces abroad, we take great pride in providing durable, protective solutions for the men and women that help ensure our safety.  Their bravery, courage and valor make them true superheroes.”

TRU-SPEC® brand garments made from CORDURA® Baselayer fabric are now available with freshFX® fabric technology.  CORDURA® Baselayer freshFX® fabric uses a silver-based technology to protect the fabric, enabling the next-to-skin undergarments to provide long-lasting freshness.

Designed to be worn underneath uniforms, the expanded line of TRU-SPEC® brand undergarments is constructed with No Melt/No Drip CORDURA® Baselayer fabric. The patent pending 60/40 cotton-nylon fiber blend helps to protect end-users by insulating the body when exposed to heat in flash fire situations such as vehicle fires.  The unique fiber blend forms gels and chars around the cotton creating an entirely new fabric structure with a higher ignition resistance that does not drip or melt onto the skin underneath like polyester.  Known for its durability and abrasion-resistant characteristics, CORDURA® Baselayer fabric also provides wearers a comfortable, breathable, lightweight solution with exceptional moisture management properties.

“When it came time to reinforce the TRU-SPEC® brand product line with protective fabric, INVISTA’s CORDURA® brand was the obvious first choice for us,” said Atlanco’s TRU-SPEC® brand President, Bryan DeHart.  “The CORDURA® Baselayer fabric line provides the optimal balance in performance fabric technology – and we are pleased to now offer freshFX® fabric technology to our product line-up.”

The TRU-SPEC® brand product line includes the following:

    • TRU-SPEC® Crew Neck t-shirt, short sleeve and long sleeve: The TRU-SPEC® crew neck t-shirt and long-sleeve shirt are equipped with a heat transfer tag to help prevent scratching for enhanced comfort and an off-set flat seam construction on the shoulder to minimize abrasion and seam stacking.  Additionally, the long sleeve shirt features ribbed knit cuffs to avoid friction and thumb loops to aid in putting on more layers.

    • TRU-SPEC® Mock Turtle Neck, short sleeve and long sleeve:  Designed for style and comfort, both the mock turtle neck short sleeve and long-sleeve shirt are equipped with a heat transfer tag to help prevent scratching for enhanced comfort and an off-set flat seam construction on the shoulder to minimize abrasion and seam stacking.  Additionally, the long sleeve shirt features ribbed knit cuffs to avoid friction and thumb loops to aid in putting on more layers.

    • TRU-SPEC® Long Johns: The TRU-SPEC® long johns feature a flat lock construction to reduce friction, access fly and an elastic waistband to secure a comfortable fit.  Additionally, the long johns feature a heat transfer tag to help prevent scratching for enhanced comfort.

    • TRU-SPEC® Boxers Briefs: These new boxer briefs feature a gripper on exterior of waistband to secure shirttail, access fly with flat seam construction to reduce friction and a ribbed knit hem to prevent abrasion. Additionally, the boxer briefs feature a heat transfer tag to help prevent scratching for enhanced comfort.
