INVISTA Announces New Collection of CORDURA® Colorlock Fabrics

Lee Jo Textile Premiers New Color Collection at Winter OR 2009

INVISTA’s CORDURA® brand team is excited to debut its latest collection of CORDURA® Colorlock fabrics at the 2009 Winter Outdoor Retailer Show.  This innovative fabric collection was developed by Korean-based Lee Jo Textile, an authorized CORDURA® fabric mill since 2001.

CORDURA® Colorlock fabrics provide excellent stain resistance, colorfastness and long-lasting durable performance. To produce their latest CORDURA® Colorlock fabric collection, Lee Jo utilizes INVISTA’s proprietary solution-dyed nylon (SDN) process in which color is permanently built into the fiber, eliminating the need to piece-dye fabrics. Additionally, several colors in the full CORDURA® Colorlock fabric portfolio are available with 25 percent pre-consumer recycled content.

Lee Jo’s Winter09 CORDURA® Colorlock fabric collection consists of 7 colors, all based on 650 denier flat constructions in a variety of styles and designs, including dobby, twill, and rainbow patterns. Basis weight for the collection averages 10 – 12 osy, and target end-uses include luggage, backpacks, briefcases, and other accessories. OKANO Trading Company Ltd, a prominent trading company in Japan, will be the first to debut this innovative fabric line.

“INVISTA’s CORDURA® brand team is proud to offer a new solution-dyed fabric collection for manufactures that are actively seeking materials in this category,” said Cindy McNaull, global CORDURA® brand manager. “By collaborating with an innovative mill such as Lee Jo Textile, we are able to offer a new range of styling options that not only hold color longer but also offer an alternative to traditional piece-dyed fabrics.”

Products made with CORDURA® Colorlock fabrics look newer longer, even when exposed to intense sunlight or the extreme temperature of industrial laundering.  These characteristics make CORDURA® Colorlock fabrics an excellent design and performance option for packs, bags, luggage, upholstery, outdoor apparel and workwear applications.
