Series Incorporates Exceptionally Durable 500D CORDURA® Classic Fabric for Light Weight Versatility

Wichita, KS - August 3, 2010 - INVISTA’s CORDURA® brand has once again teamed with CamelBak®, the originator and a world leader in hands-free hydration systems, to produce an exceptionally light weight yet highly versatile hydration pack for all-day excursions. The Linchpin™ tactical hydration pack, the newest addition to the CamelBak® Maximum® Gear line, is a fully integrated hydration system featuring all the key elements that both CamelBak® and CORDURA® fabric are known for. 

Featuring 500D CORDURA® Classic fabric, war fighters using the Linchpin™ hydration pack have a lightened load while still carrying the same amount of gear. The 500D CORDURA® Classic fabric has a tighter weave and is 35 percent lighter (per square yard) than standard 1000D CORDURA® Classic fabric, making this an extremely durable yet versatile tactical pack for carrying ammunition, cargo and hydration.

The Linchpin™ features multiple external and side pockets designed to carry up to three M16 magazines each, a glasses or goggle pocket, compressible overflow storage, an outer flat map pocket, and an internal organization pocket. Other features include underarm tube routing, dual antenna ports, top grab handle and a hook-and-loop panel for the hassle-free removal of nametags and unit badges.

Along with a separate insulated hydration compartment, the Linchpin™ features the Futura Harness by Mystery Ranch that allows the user to custom fit the pack to their specific torso height. The pack measures 19.5-by-18-by-14.5 inches, holds a 3-liter reservoir and comes in three colors: army universal camo, coyote or MultiCam®.

The Linchpin™ was released May 2010 and is available on GSA contract GS07F-9727H, at Exchanges and all usual CamelBak Maximum® Gear distribution outlets.
