INVISTA LAUNCHES NEW CORDURA® COLORLOCK FABRIC COLLECTION
The 200 Color Collection Uses Solution-Dyed Colorlock Fiber Technology to Improve Stain Resistance and Colorfastness
WILMINGTON, DE - April 9, 2008 - INVISTA announces the latest addition to the CORDURA® brand portfolio: CORDURA® Colorlock fabrics. With 200 new color options, the fabrics provide excellent stain resistance, colorfastness and long-lasting, durable performance.
A process in which color is permanently built into the fiber eliminates the need to piece-dye fabrics, thus eliminating energy consumption and waste generation of traditional dyeing processes. Additionally, several colors in the CORDURA® Colorlock fabric portfolio are available with 25 percent pre-consumer recycled content.
Products made with CORDURA® Colorlock fabrics look newer longer, even when exposed to intense sunlight or the extreme temperature of industrial laundering. These characteristics make CORDURA® Colorlock fabrics an excellent design and performance option for packs, bags, luggage, upholstery, outdoor apparel and workwear applications.
"At the heart of CORDURA® Colorlock fabric technology is the same strength and durability you expect from all CORDURA® fabrics," says Cindy McNaull, global brand manager for INVISTA's CORDURA® brand. "Our fabrics' inherent durability, coupled with solution-dyed technology that eliminates the dyeing step is testament to our commitment to provide customers and consumers with alternative, innovative fabric and design solutions."
CORDURA® Colorlock fabrics are made with INVISTA's proprietary solution-dyed nylon yards available in 650- and 1245-denier. Customers can chose from more than 200 colors that can be mixed and matched to create virtually limitless design and styling options. The colors have uniform shade with minimal lot-to-lot dye variation and offer superior resistance to fading compared to piece-dyed fabrics. Additionally, INVISTA's no yarn minimum policy provides flexibility for fabric mills to offer smaller lot sizes.
