INVISTA’s CORDURA® Brand Team Sponsors 2010 Business Manager Awards

UK Workwear and Corporate Clothing Shows’ Second Annual Award Ceremony Recognizes Garment and Textile Buyers

INVISTA’s CORDURA® brand team continues to show their appreciation to buyers in the corporate clothing, workwear and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) segments as the Platinum sponsor of the Workwear and Corporate Clothing Shows’ second annual Business Manager Awards. This year, the awards will be held on April 13 at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry, U.K.

The Business Manager Awards were established to raise awareness and express appreciation for the essential role that the relationships between buyers and suppliers of corporate clothing, workwear and PPE play to the success of these segments.

Susannah Rayfield, EMEA CORDURA® brand manager and European sales manager for INVISTA’s industrial nylon staple business, will introduce the awards segment of the event. This year, Susannah has been invited to speak during the ceremony about her role in the judging process as well as explain INVISTA’s CORDURA® brand story before the hosts of the evening, Karren Brady and Yvette Ashby, take to the stage to present the range of awards.

A seasoned veteran of the textile industry, Bill Colven, the global business director for INVISTA’s CORDURA® brand, will present the Business Manager of the Year Award.

“The continuing development of the European workwear and corporate clothing industry is heavily influenced by the buyers’ dedication to pushing fabric and garment suppliers to be imaginative and innovative with product and service offerings, which is even more important during these challenging economic times,” said Susannah. “We are honored to continue to sponsor an event that celebrates buyers’ hard work and passion in this industry.”

Three industry experts accompanied Rayfield in evaluating the nominees. Together, they faced the challenging task of selecting the winners from a wide range of entrants.

In addition to the Workwear, Corporate Clothing and PPE award categories from last year, the 2010 Business Manager Awards will feature a new category called “Innovation.” This award will honor the buyer-supplier partnerships that demonstrate creative thinking about how and what to provide to wearers of workwear, PPE and corporate clothing. A first, second and third place prize will be awarded to the buyer-supplier partnerships that produce a garment that pushes the boundaries of apparel in the workwear industry. The winners will have successfully illustrated beneficial use of the fabric for style, functionality, design, service and manufacturing process purposes.
